KZmod Beta4.2 julkaistu!



Hey guys,

it's actually done. KZmod Beta4.2 is ready to play and brings so much extra fun to everyone who is ready to try it (in case you don't know it already).

Remember, KZmod is a Half-Life2 Mod (Full conversion mod) for the source engine. It covers climbing, bhop maps (sv_bhop "1" aka AXN and bhop maps with sv_bhop 0), longjumping, laddermaps, raceways, slidemaps, surfing, bungee maps and much more. Recent additions include: 1.6 doubleducking, 1.6 standup physics, 1.6 ladder engine, a HUGE load of EASY maps for beginners, 300+ map fixes, 5 new Awards, 2 new gameplay modes and much more other important bugfixes (no more lags if the server is full) that make this update feel like the final version almost. Full infos, screens and videos about the mod can be found at moddb.com!

-> Note: You need any of the HL2 games containing SourceSDK BASE to be able to play it, such as Half-Life 2, HL2DM or CSS. You can see a full list of 19 such games or packs here.
It is important to realize that to install the full game PROPERLY, you must install 4.0 completely, and then ONLY add the 4.2 Patch update. It contains the 4.1 update so now there are STILL only 2 files to download. DO NOT save your 4.0 config.cfg. Start fresh to ensure you have all FEATURES!

The Beta4.2 Changelog

Bug fixes and Changes:
1. Added the Double Duck and the duck physics of CS1.6.
2. F4 exploit fixed - F4 now stops the timer and removes your limited bungee.
3. The fall pain sound and the "thump" sound both play at the same time now always.
4. The "Congratulations window stuck on screen after level transition" bug has been fixed.
5. The end of the bungee is 100% non-solid, this bug was re-created at the release of beta 4 when the player solidity code was adjusted.
6. Fixed a bug that allowed a player to crash a server by disconnecting after firing a flare at a flare target.
7. You can no longer join spectator mode while paused. This prevents the bug that allows you to be visible while spectating.
8. Fixed a glitch in bungee rendering that prevented it from curving with length (and otherwise simulate properly).
9. There is no longer a running speed penalty when running in knee-deep water (for example, in kz_cliffhanger at the bottom of the cliff).
10. You can no longer spectate other spectators. (This bug was only seen when the last non-spectator on the server became a spectator).
11. The game no longer crashes once the climb timer reaches 99:59. It will simply freeze right there for you to realize that you are taking too long.
12. Switching between main and art tool is now bug free. The previous tool is properly holstered.
13. If you have turned off kz_shop_auto_show and finished a course, a bug existed where if you turned kz_shop_auto_show back on the shop window would appear. This is now fixed.
14. Fixed a visual bug related to art tool beams and spectating.
15. Fixed a bug with noclip where movement would be very slow.
16. Fixed the visual glitch where, when teleporting, a player would appear to fly there at high speed rather than actually teleporting (This was only seen by other players).
17. You can no longer unholster your weapon while in the process of holstering it.
18. Fixed a common clientside crash on large maps.
19. Watersplashes in slime are now slime splashes.
20. Fixed hit effects with non-axe models not being correct for other players.
21. Fixed the laggy views in demos when viewing first person ones.
22. Fixed a crash that env_explosion entities were causing when a ragdoll was near to them.
23. A player's ragdoll's skin now matches their model's skin.
24. Fixed a bug with the player model skin selection box on the Customize Climber dialog.
25. The chat bug where case changes in player names would break chat messages has been corrected.
26. Fixed being unable to change your custom message with the Customize Climber dialog unless you are connected to a server.
27. The game will no longer become increasingly slower as more players progressively join the server (FPS drop with lots of players on a server).


Function Additions and Tweaks:
1. Pressing F2 no longer removes your bungee, elite status, or checkpoints,however, it still stops your timer.
2. The screen no longer fades-in at the start of the map if you are recording or playing a demo. Normal game play is not affected.
3. You can fire flares from trigger_flare_interval even if sv_enable_flaregun is 0.
4. Removed the sparks from loading checkpoints effect.
5. Servers now perform validation checks on connecting client's kzmod versions. If a player does not have the latest version of kzmod, they will be kicked from the server and asked to download the latest version. Server owners can disable this behavior by using sv_versioncheck 0.
6. Added "Preserve Movement Velocity" spawnflag to trigger_teleport. All teleport destinations will receive the player at 0 speed by default.
7. Point_spotlight now has the dynamic lights flag off by default.
8. Spectators now have their own section in the scoreboard in white.
9. Combine mines will now always explode if a vehicle runs over one, and are significantly less CPU intensive.
10. New keyvalue for the entity game_zone_player: Only alive players.
If set, the game_zone_player will only count alive players in it's volume. Players who are spectators are not counted if this is set to only alive players.
11. Your client does not receive other player's custom colors until they are in your PVS (or in other words, until you see them for the first time). In 4.1, if the other player's color was not known, it would be displayed as their team color in chat. As this can sometimes cause confusion, players with unknown colors will be displayed in white on the player chat.
12. Shop window auto-showing at the end of a run can be toggled with a checkbox in the shop window. This means you are not forced to use the convar anymore, but it still exists. Press B by default to open it.
13. Reduced CPU usage by the Dynamic Physics Shadow.
14. Trigger_legbreak now supports the use of filter entities.
15. Added Boots of Speed, Psychic Slow Motion, Boots of Height, and Stats Readout (plus a surprise) to the medals eating Awards Store. PLUS!...no I won't ruin it.
16. New entity: point_gravity. Allows you to set the gravity on the activating player by passing the gravity value. For example, if a player pushes a button, and that button calls a point_gravity's SetGravity 0.5, the player will have 0.5 gravity. The point_gravity can also set a player's gravity back to normal with ResetGravity.
17. New option for trigger_flare: Restrictions. Allows the following options:
-> Players can be on foot or in a vehicle, no restriction.
-> Players must be on foot for the flare to register.
-> Players must be in a vehicle for the flare to register.
( these are not flags, as that method is not as versatile, and also 1"no restriction" was enabled to allow better freedom for mappers ).
18. Trigger_teleport now has an option to stop the timer. In the case of a starttimer being right next to a stoptimer (ie kz_mix_piraraa), the exploit using checks to get a 1 or 2 second time is now impossible.
19. cl_drawhud is no longer a "cheat" for easy screenshots or clearing the screen for movies. You can still holster with Q, cl_drawhud 1 is still a requirement during demo recording for the World Records list.
20. Added CS1.6 type ladders. These ladder are a texture surface property and not an entity volume and can be also used overhead. Any texture material with $surfaceprop "ladder", simply is a ladder. Only one face per brush can have a ladder texture. You can connect forwards, backwards, while looking in any direction, even if you are not pressing a direction key.
21. New entity: Trigger_volumetric_fog. Acts as a fog_controller for any player inside the entities volume. Allows for fog in isolated areas like a specific minimap.
22. New entity: Env_fov. change the players Field of View (old trippin_sp view shift effect)
23. Trigger_teleport now stops the player unless you tick the keyvalue to allowing forward velocity to continue (kz_surf_protraining)
24. Added the Counter-Strike Source knife as a selectable climbing tool.
25. (SPEC) now appears in front of all spectator's chat messages.
26. The Hatchet now has a max speed penalty (the same speed penalty as the CS AWP. Skillful Trick Jumpers rejoice!)
27. Trigger_teleport has a new flag which was created to prevent any player movement input until they touch the ground.
28. The advanced first person flashlight effects now work for other players in third person in multiplayer, in our spectator mode, and is perfectly smooth.
29. New entity: trigger_jumpcontrol. This entity can prevent players jumping when in it's volume and also includes preventing bunnyhopping. The restriction is removed upon exiting the entity (unless the entity is flagged not to do so).
30. Added the Girl Climber playermodel complete with 2 skins.
31. Art Tool dots now have a much nicer visual look.
32. Added a new method for drawing art tool dots, allowing the following improvements:

-> 4096 max art tool dots,
-> Can change the size of the dots dynamically ingame,
-> Much less lag when viewing the dots,
-> Can choose to not view any dots at all,
-> Can change the draw distance of the dots if too much lag is present on older computer,
-> Dots no longer remove dots that are adjacent to them.
-> It is now possible to properly draw on displacements!

kz_cathedral_ez, kz_cookbook_ez, kz_silo_ez and kz_fortress_ez, were all re-created to help stop new players from rage-quitting so fast. Also all 4 maps have their minimap teleports copied to the spawn areas for easy access. The cathedral and fortress ez versions both got each 2 shortcut fixes, and silo_ez got a re-texture.

kz_afterdark - Start timer delay set to .1
kz_aim_flareworld - Added flare intervals and forces flare targets on #4 (targetrace) to only react to flares fired from within vehicles.
kz_bhop_arctic - Start and stop timer delay set to .1
kz_bhop_cartooncastle - New areas created
kz_bhop_hangman - added player attribute entities, adjusted some touchpoint positions.
kz_cathedral - 2 major shortcuts were removed.
kz_caverns_deep - finalized major shortcut fix, copied 2-man mini teleport to beginning area.
kz_cityswingers - Touchpoints on the main bungee course removed. TheAntenna touchpoints remain.
kz_cliffhanger - Tipii's longjumps teleport copied to beginning.
kz_cookbook - minimap teleport moved to the start area
kz_crate_delight - Touchpoints removed, minimap teleports copied to spawn area, Major sc's were fixed. Jumpcontrol added to timed LJ course.
kz_cube - bad teleports and exploits removed or fixed, textures reworked, texture bugs fixed.
kz_dance - all timer exploits removed.
kz_fortress - 8 major shortcuts were removed involving displacement surfing.
kz_freezing_ridge - Fixed the spawn bug by the ghostly top hats.
kz_man_madness2 - The easy route has been made actually easy and the teleports to the 2 hidden mini's have been moved and revealed. Exploits have been removed.
kz_mix_piraraa -
The Haven: bungee rope shortened, target closer to the first half (avoids the major Bungee shortcut).
The Ascension: first 3 targets lowered, 1 target added, 2 touchpoints added (green)
The Escape: one touchpoint added over the pyramid (yellow)(surfing any part of the pyramid is enough),,
The bungee part that led to a "secret" jump course on the tower has been removed and replaced with ladders. You can surf directly to the ladders too.
kz_quadrathon - pause exploit for the dance part removed
kz_station - Start timer delay set to .1
kz_stranded - Start timer delay set to .1
kz_surf_protraining - The Ezblock minimap has been made actually easy. Forward velocity on teleporting remains in this particular map for the surf only.
kz_trippin - Jumpcontrol added to timed LJ course, surfing exploits killed.
kz_trippin_sp - Proper FOV entities added, Jumpcontrol added to timed LJ course, surfing exploits killed.
kz_tutorial - Timers removed, voices adjusted/added. Added Bunnyhop and Raceway courses. Jumpcontrol added to LJ course. Jumping, Headblocker and Longjump courses made easier. Minor details + a completely new ending added. Full course now works from the main lobby. The second lobby allows you to train each room freely. Get to it by by leaving any room through the red teleports, then enter the "Wimp" teleport from the main lobby. Note: The second lobby rooms cannot unlock the secrets of the map at the end.

New Convars:

1. kz_soundscapes -Allows you to disable either just the current soundscape (i.e. if it's an annoying music one), or disable all soundscapes to enable a quiet jumping experience. Three values:
-1 = No Soundscapes
0 = Deny current soundscape, but once the soundscape changes, the var will be set back to 1 again.
1 = Enable all soundscapes.
2. stopsound_kzmod -Works in the same way as stopsound, but does not require cheats.
3. stoptimer -As the name implies, this command will stop your running timer and reset your course. This will allow you to, for example, timebomb or use your timer-restricted unlocks again.
4. kz_legbreak_sounds -Allows you to control how you hear legbreak sounds. Four values:
-2 = no legbreak sounds
-1 = only your own sounds, not other player's
0 = other player's sounds, not your own
1 = hear all legbreak sounds.
5. kz_spec_helpers_self (1/0) -allows you to see your own buttons around the crosshair.
6. sv_versioncheck (1/0) -turns on or off the game version validation check.
7. cl_checkpoint_rotation (1/0) -this console variable allows you to choose whether or not your view angle is changed when loading a checkpoint. (If the variable is at 0, you will not be orientated to face the checkpoint when teleporting to it.)
8. rrdecal_+other console variables derived on rrdecal_ -these variables control the various settings for the Art Tool decals. Simply type rrdecal_ into the console and it will show you its options.
9. kz_stats_readout_x, kz_stats_readout_y (0-1) -Allows you to set the position of the stats readout on your screen, it is a fraction of your screen width, so 0-1 value.
10. cl_randomtips -If this variable is 1, then at specified intervals, you will be shown a random tip relating to KZMOD.
11. cl_randomtips_interval -Allows adjustment of the time between random tips.
12. cl_randomtips_displaytime -Allows adjustment of how long each random tip displays on the screen. Default is 11.
13. cl_randomtips_showtip -Displays a random tip instantly each time the command is issued. This will still function even if the value is 0.
